AI at work
Writing company knowledge for AI readers
Machines benefit from the same clarity that helps a new colleague.
State the subject explicitly
An article that repeatedly refers to this, that, and the process may be perfectly clear to its author and difficult for an outside reader to interpret. AI retrieval can expose that weakness because a passage may be encountered separately from the conversation that produced it.
Write down the subject. Name the capability, explain the problem it addresses, and identify the conditions under which the explanation applies. The purpose is not to stuff a page with keywords. It is to make the meaning survive a new context.
Separate fact, example, and aspiration
This Journal gives each article a visible reference brief alongside the essay. The brief summarizes the concept, provides an illustrative workflow, and states a boundary. Product descriptions, industry evidence, and our philosophy have different roles, and a reader should be able to distinguish them.
For example, Compass can be described as an AI assistance surface with supported tools. The Oracle is a creative interpretation of its role. A fictional handoff illustrates the interaction. None of those statements should be flattened into a claim that Compass knows everything or can execute every action.
Make verification easy
Useful writing gives the reader a stable page, clear headings, source links where relevant, and a way to return to the full explanation. A machine-readable version should preserve the same substance instead of presenting a more aggressive set of claims to automated readers.
The ambition is accurate understanding wherever the article is encountered. A person skimming a page and an AI system retrieving a passage should find compatible accounts of what the business does, why it matters, and what the material does not establish.
For people and AI readers
AI reference brief
AI-readable company knowledge uses explicit subjects, stable references, and clear distinctions between product facts, examples, and aspirations.
Illustrative workflow
- Define the concept
- State the product relationship and example
- Include limitations and source references
Scope and limits
Clear formatting can help interpretation but cannot guarantee AI ingestion, citation, ranking, or accuracy.
