AI at work
AI amplifies the system around it
Organizational design belongs in the AI conversation.
Look beyond the model
DORA's 2025 research on AI-assisted software development describes AI as an amplifier of existing organizational strengths and weaknesses. Its focus is software delivery, so it should not be treated as direct proof about every type of business. It does offer a useful question: what operating conditions are we asking AI to amplify?
A system with clear ownership, maintained knowledge, and visible evidence gives assistance a different foundation from one with conflicting procedures and untraceable decisions. Buying access to a model does not resolve those differences.
Improve the surrounding conditions
OnPoint's approach places AI alongside communications, knowledge, activity, and operational context. The product thesis is that these relationships matter to useful assistance. The practical work includes clarifying requirements, maintaining Articles, organizing Reference Files, and making human review understandable.
Imagine introducing an advisor into a process where nobody knows which checklist is current. The advisor may surface information faster, but the organization still has to resolve the underlying ambiguity. Better assistance and better operating discipline should develop together.
Evaluate the whole arrangement
A meaningful AI evaluation asks more than whether an answer sounded good. Could the person inspect its sources? Did it help identify the right next decision? Was the proposed action within scope? Did the workflow remain understandable afterward?
Our inference from the industry conversation is that organizational infrastructure deserves as much attention as model capability. The aspiration is a business ready to use intelligence well, with the context and habits that let assistance improve the work rather than accelerate its confusion.
