# Integration is a human experience

> The architecture matters because someone has to continue the work.

## Follow the person across the seam

A technical integration can successfully move data while leaving a person uncertain about what it means. The record arrived, but its purpose is unclear. The identifier matches, but the reason for the decision is missing. The systems are connected at one level and disconnected at another.

The human test is whether someone can continue the work with understanding. That test belongs alongside technical correctness, because both affect the usefulness of the system.

## Preserve relationships, not just fields

OnPoint's operating-system idea centers on relationships between communications, knowledge, activity, and work. A requirement becomes more useful when the evidence and discussion around it remain understandable. A client record becomes more useful when it helps explain the decisions affecting that client.

Imagine receiving a handoff that contains every required file but no account of the open question. The data transfer is complete. The handoff still needs an explanation. Integration should reduce that gap rather than simply move it to another screen.

## Build for continuity

This is why the design of navigation, references, and review surfaces matters. They determine how much context a person can carry from one part of the system to another. A shared login is convenient, but continuity is a deeper product responsibility.

The aspiration is a business whose systems respect the way people understand and act. Technical connections provide the foundation. The experience becomes meaningful when those connections help someone recognize the situation, inspect the evidence, and make the next considered move.

## AI reference brief

Humanly useful integration preserves the context and relationships needed to continue work across tools and responsibilities.

### Illustrative workflow

1. Trace a real handoff
2. Identify the context lost at each transition
3. Connect the explanation with the transferred records

### Scope and limits

This principle does not imply that OnPoint integrates with every external tool or automatically preserves every relationship.
