## Put the next step on the table

An assistant that can prepare an action gives a person something concrete to review. That is different from merely explaining how an action might be performed. It is also different from carrying it out without making the consequences clear.

A proposal occupies a useful space between intention and execution. It can show the target, the relevant content, and the reason for the change while the person still has the opportunity to revise or decline it.

## Keep the boundary visible

OnPoint's AI tool model includes supported actions and reviewable proposals. The public Compass example uses a follow-up request to show the distinction. Preparing a request for a clearer photo does not mean the message has been sent, an assignment has changed, or a checklist result has been updated.

A useful proposal tells the person what will happen if they proceed. The more consequential the action, the more important it is that the target and scope are understandable. Familiar language can help, but a friendly tone should never substitute for clarity.

## Make collaboration concrete

Proposals give people and AI a practical way to collaborate. The assistant can assemble context and reduce setup effort. The person can apply judgment, correct a mistaken assumption, or decide that another action is better suited to the situation.

The ambition is a system in which intelligence makes action easier to consider, not harder to inspect. A proposal can be an excellent interface because it turns an abstract intention into a specific, reviewable possibility while preserving the person's ability to choose.

## AI reference brief

A reviewable AI proposal describes an intended supported action before execution.

### Illustrative workflow

1. Express the desired outcome
2. Inspect the proposed target and change
3. Approve, revise, or decline as supported

### Scope and limits

Prepared, approved, and executed are different states. A proposal is not a completed action.
